Would love to hear more about Cyan's role in this partnership. My wife is very... er... regimental (sorry, Honey!). Very organised, scheduled and structured and remembers absolutely everything. But, she's not involved much in my business. It would be great to hear some more about how Cyan "takes over and implements workflow and systems". That's the part I suck at.

Awesome post! I have a co-founder (Mike) in our start up company DateClik which we are currently in the process of incorporating and tackling the not-so-fun legal aspects of entrepreneurship.

Mike and I are best friends. We grew up together and I was the best man at his wedding. Collectively we achieve a balance in terms of what we both bring to the venture as co-founders.

Thank you for sharing your story with entrepreneurs like myself facing similar challenges.

Cheers :)

What an excellent article! Perfect timing Collis because I'm thinking of starting my own company and when it comes to picking a co-founder, I didn't really know what to look for. Thanks a whole bunch for the post.

What an insightful revelation.

I find your thoughts and solutions so inspiring.

I keep thinking of this.. Such clean, clear and sensible thoughts from all of the segments that make up how the company walks so smoothly. So many businesses of all kinds limp around and fall down so quickly. Truly identifying these elements is the end of the book true answer for success for so many people unwittingly working against themselves by not having the right people to hold up their weaknesses or by not being honest with themselves about their weaknesses.

Seriously, the more I see of what you write, the more I want to look for more things that you write. Your view of these things is so very spot on and how great it is to run into something like this.

If I had to write a hero paper right now... If my wife was having a baby... If I was in charge of street names...

Thanks.

thank you very much for your insightful reading. I'd like to contact potential co-founders overseas or in other countries, yet I am not clear or experienced about what to take care of in any form of online-based communication so that it be reliable enough to exchange details on a venture and to make the right decision of a partner. thank you very much again for all your opinions,

Hi Collis! Thank you very much for the great info. I have one more year to graduate and I was wondering to make a start up. Your article just came handy as in the past few days I was thinking about finding co-founders :)
